RSD 2020 Drop ONE Saturday August 29th

Well, this is it! After 12 long years, Record Store Day finally comes to Faversham. This ancient town of Kings, which has a great and vibrant live music scene. What’s taken so long? Now that’s a question.
Firstly, I guess its chronology, Creekside Vinyl only opened in the centre of town, selling brand new records, back in November 2018.That year we were too late to take part in the spring 2019 RSD. We missed our shot. Fast forward 12 months and we were all ready for this…RSD April 2020…We had arranged for those fine local hero’s “Waspjuice” to get their guitars and harmonies out for the good boys n girls. Balloons and good times were purchased and ready to go. What could possibly go wrong!?!
Spring and early summer of the 2020 did its nasty virus thing and our shop turned off the lights whilst we all tried to stay safe and alert! And so, a few box set binges down the line and we are slowly getting back and used to this New (Ab)Normal. And Record Store Day is split into a trilogy …with “drops” at the end of the months of August, September and October.
And here we are the end of August and the first of those drops. So below you will find the list of RSD records that we have in stock and available for first come first serve on Saturday 29Th August from 8:30am. No balloons, no dancing monkeys, no fanfare and no ice cream trees. Just records and good vibes.
The health warning which comes along with the list is that it may not be as expansive and all-encompassing as we would have liked, or indeed as it would have been if the last seven months had been different. Alongside the impact of the different financial landscape we find ourselves in, since coming back we have also been in an unseemly fight with our, not very supportive or friendly, local council and annoyingly this has sucked a lot of my time and energy away from the shop. I missed at least one RSD ordering deadline…which made me all sorts of grumpy, but hey, stop my yackin’, it is what it is.

I hope there is something here for you and if so, we look forward to seeing you on Saturday for what should be a great fun day. |
Love n peace y’all. Simon x
PS. As well as those RSD records we also have a shop packed full of New Releases, Classic Albums and Obscure Gems.

Was looking forward to coming on Staurday, but unfortunately one of the main items I was after (Paul Hardcastle – 19 Mixes), you’re not getting in the other one sadly you only have one copy of (The Who – Odds & Sods), so sadly I’ll have to go further afield to try another shop in the chance of getting what I’m after.
All the best and I hope you have a succesful first RSD.

Hi Paul
Im sorry we weren’t able to get in what you were after. As I mentioned on our blog , the combination of it being our first one, the crazy financial situation following the lockdown etc etc…we have been conservative with what we ordered consequently we’ve missed out on some, coupled with some damaged stock which has had to be returned. Good luck with your hunting, locally there is Gatefield sounds ( Whitstable) and Vinylsaur Jr( Canterbury) who as veterans may have a wider stock list. Also don’t forget that from 6:00 shops are able to sell on line, So if you haven’t scored The Who record, give me a call , if we’ve still got it in stock we can sort you out!
have a great day
cheers
Simon
