LEGENDARY DJ GARY CROWLEY COMES TO FAVERSHAM

Creekside Vinyl, is proud to present ‘An Evening in Conversation with Gary Crowley’. Since moving to the town centre a few months ago, the shop has become a thriving hub for new records and musical events. Now, encouraged by local enthusiasts, Creekside Vinyl has managed to entice the legend that is Gary Crowley into town.
Gary Crowley is a voice and face recognisable to many through his various radio shows, TV presenting and documentary appearances over the last 40 years.
Gary’s interview CV is a veritable ‘who’s who’ of major names in music and film – including Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Jack Lemmon, Paul Weller and many more.
Gary has been the subject of a short film by Mono Media Films called ‘The Life, The Music and the Hairstyles’ which will be screened at the event. After this, he will be taking part in a rare Q&A talking about his career, his love of music and passion for radio broadcasting.
Alongside his regular Saturday evening show for Radio London, Gary’s latest project is a compilation album entitled ‘Gary Crowley’s Lost 80s’. This presents 63 tracks that are a welcome alternative to the ‘fluffy manufactured pop’ that ruled the airwaves in the UK and USA through the decade.
The album is available as a 4 CD box set or a 3 LP set. It is expertly compiled and tracks veer from ‘jingly jangly’ Indie-Pop, to the edge of New Romantic plus a wide range of under-the-radar, genre-defining dance floor grooves.
Many of these tracks are rare and hard to find, having not appeared on CDs or LPs since their original 80s release.
The audience will have the opportunity to buy a signed copy of the album and meet the curator at the event. Tickets are available for this exclusive event from Creekside Vinyl, Market Street Faversham.
